Why this exists

Retail stole thirteen years of Rob's life. Then a scrappy little book helped him get out

Rob started on supermarket nights at 18, worked his way into management and discovered that promotion did not make him feel any less trapped. He began writing down the things that made retail ridiculous. Those rants became Retail Stole My Life, and the book became the proof that landed his first job as a writer.

It wasn't polished and it wasn't written as a career plan. It simply showed what he could do. This site exists to help other retail workers recognise their own evidence sooner.
